I walked into the door It was terribly late I looked at my watch it said ... So why in the world am I still awake? and I started looking for something to take I tried doing yoga, I tried TM, I tried self-hypnosis, and I tried Zen I tried eating I tried drinking but the whole damn time I just kept thinking... Why can't I sleep at night when I get home? oh insomnia! just won't leave me alone hey, Mr. K! Why don't you show 'em exactly how you feel? show 'em, tell 'em! I know just how you feel... I took a hot bath, I tried a cold shower and I listened to time on the phone for an hour Had some hot milk and I tried counting sheep but I just couldn't seem to get to sleep tried reading books and watching TV I turned the radio on drank chamomile tea picked up my guitar and wrote this song but the whole damn time there was something wrong... Why can't I sleep at night when I get home? oh, insomnia! just won't leave me alone! let me show you what I'm talking about, right here! well, I finally got to bed, and to my surprise... there was a beautiful woman, she had big brown eyes she said, "I bet I know why you're still wired..." and she proceeded to get me tired! Hugged me, kissed me, squeezed me tight so we made sweet love for most of that night now that I know just what I've been missing I'm going to tell you about it, I hope you listen! now I sleep wonderful when I get home yes, with a lover like her, insomnia leaves me alone! hey! don't you go anywhere...I'm not done with you yet leaves me alone insomnia!
