Understanding and Managing Blood Sugar

Low glycemic foods are good for blood sugar management. I'm Erin White and THIS is a dailyRx Minute. A food's glycemic index tells you how much that food will increase your blood sugar. Having blood sugar levels that are too high can lead to diabetes. Choosing foods with a LOWER glycemic index can help keep your blood sugar levels in check. Try apples with a glycemic index of 39 INSTEAD of watermelons with a glycemic index of 72. Swap out white rice with it's glycemic index of 89 for brown rice and eat bran flakes instead of corn flakes.
