Hello, my name's Anna Bradley and i'm the Chair of Healthwatch England and i'm really please to be talking to you all today because i wanted to respond to the many requests that we've had by email and letter and phone calls to invite me to come and speak to you each of the local links or groups of links. It is simply hasn't been possible, i'm afraid, for me to get around to see all of you, and i thought you might be helpful therefore if i took the opportunity to speak to you, and start by saying how much I value the contribution which you've made to representing the users and consumers of services over the last period. I know for many of you it's been a bit of a life's work. You've committed a considerable amount of time and energy to it and i think that must go remarked. I want to say thank you for that. I know you've made some improvements of substance to people's lives and that's very important. I very much hope that many of you will want to continue to be involved in local Healthwatch, and that's important because there is, of course, a common thread here. Much of what links have done in the past much of what links have done in the past will be carried forward by local Healthwatch. There are some extra and, i think, really important and useful things in addition, not least the fact that local Healthwatch will sit on the Health and Well-Being Board, giving them real status in the local health and social care system. But we would really value having the expertise that you've developed connected with local Healthwatch. So i hope you want to stay involved. Whether or not you do there is a really important thing for Healthwatch going forward- that we don't lose the lessons learned, the legacy of good practice which and has been established across the country through Links. And that's why one of the things we are doing at Healthwatch England is to build, build into our Healthwatch hub, which is an intranet, with local Healthwatch and Healthwatch England will share, a section which is about the legacy that Links can provide us- The lessons learned so we don't make the same mistakes, the really good practice. And i'd invite you all therefore, whether you stay involved or not, to email us to the email below, giving us the example of which you're most proud of the work that you did with Links.. and send us, where you have them, reports of that work so that we can share all of that with local Healthwatch, and they can build on it. It remains only really to say a last thank you for everything that you've done, and a real wish that you hope to stay involved, and that over the course of the next period I get to meet many more of you, albeit in a new guise. Many thanks.
