
I am Dr Kelly Henault and I'm a hypnotherapist and a hypnosis instructor. What I do for a living is I work with the subconscious part of the mind. And one of the things that I do is I work with people that use food to alter their emotions. Ending emotional eating is a workshop in the program that I use and that I do. What that program does is it teaches the person to use other things other than food whenever they're feeling stressed or uncomfortable or whatever there's a feeling that they don't like. It's very very important that the emotional area learns that there are other things that they can do. Now I am talking about learning I'm not talking about working with that conscious part of the mind, that part of the mind that you've been working with all these years. Because you've tried working with that part of the mind, you've been unsuccessful. I'm talking about working with the deeper part of your mind, that's your subconscious part of your mind and basically it's kind of like a hard-drive. And how it's programmed is how you behave so what happens with people is, when they're very very young, parents and family and things like that, teachers, will give the child a snack pr piece of candy when they're sad or upset. And now what happens is the child learns that's something sweet and food alters their mood and that becomes a very very powerful connection inside the subconscious mind and it really alters their behavior their entire life. With hypnosis and hypnotherapy we didn't go into the subconscious mind and we can alter those beliefs about food and those beliefs about the reasons that you have to eat food so that you literally only eat when you're hungry and you'll stop when you're full.
