Insomnia Rambl reepyPasta Story

I haven't slept for the past few days so excuse any random comments straying from the subject. Let me start with a simple question, "What is fear?" "Easy, I know." You may tell yourself, but do you really know? There is fake fear obviously. So what is real fear? Is it true that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself? And if so, why? It is these questions that have drawn me to research this and I have come to a conclusion. Fear is a defense mechanism designed to keep us alive. If there was no fear, none of us would be alive. It is very hard to explain, so I will put it as simply as possible and throw in as many examples as I can. You know how you may catch movements in the corner of your eye? Fear controls that. It makes you aware that there is an unknown presence near you. It may not be a threat, but you don't know that, do you? What do you do? Get up and check it out or dismiss it as nothing? Going to check it out is a death sentence. You're better off dismissing it, but what you should do is run. Run as fast as you can. You don't want to take those kinds of chances. Besides...I like a challenge. Sleep tight, and have dreams filled with fright as my mother would say.
