When it comes to health and social care we all want the best services we can get. Whether we only need help now and again... whether the quality of our lives is affected... whether it’s a matter of life and death. Now, through Healthwatch we can make a real difference to the way these services are run. Healthwatch gives us a voice... even for those who sometimes may feel left out. They’ll listen to our views about how we’re treated and how we’re cared for. And they’ve got the clout to do something about it. They’ll help us shape local services and armed with our evidence, experiences and stories... they’ll ensure our voices are heard and responded to at a national level. It’s good for us who provide services too... as Healthwatch can tell us what really matters to people who use our services. And at a time where there are so many big changes to the NHS and social care it’s a comfort to know Healthwatch are there to shape those services. To see what’s working, and what’s not... and to champion our needs too. So we’re treated fairly with equal access to the help we need. Healthwatch is independent. Because they’re not part of the service we provide that gives us a trust to be honest with them. This is our opportunity to be heard... and for us all to learn. I can make a difference.
